SPEECH AND MAGNIFICATION INCLUDED AS STANDARD
- All devices feature built-in, natural-sounding speech across every screen, allowing you to select from a variety of high-quality male and female voices.
- Adjust zoom levels to enlarge or reduce the text you’re reading or typing on any screen. Modify the zoom level to control the number of options displayed.
- Utilize the arrow at the bottom of the screen to navigate to additional menu options if there are more than can fit on one screen.
SEAMLESS NAVIGATION
- Tailor the Main Menu to appear as a grid on a single screen, simplifying your navigation throughout Synapptic.
- Stay oriented and easily return to the Main Menu using the red cross located in the top left corner of each screen, which announces “cancel and go back” when tapped. This feature allows you to return to the previous screen effortlessly.
- Adjust magnification levels, color themes, speech settings, voice speed, and volume for beeps and other sounds, along with screen brightness and menu options, to enhance your navigation experience.
VOICE CONTROL & RECOGNITION
- Manage your smartphone entirely through voice commands. Navigate menus, make calls, send text messages, compose emails, and much more—all hands-free!
- Speed up your messaging by dictating instead of typing! The Voice Recognition feature is highly accurate, with automatic spell-check for added convenience.
- Easily dictate text messages, emails, or any other content. Simply locate the keyboard on the screen and tap the microphone icon in the top right corner to activate Voice Recognition for effortless dictation.
DIAL TELEPHONE NUMBERS & MANAGE CALLS
Simply tap the numbers on the large, high-contrast keypad, or glide your finger over the keys, lifting it off each number you need.
As you input the number, it will be displayed at the top of the screen, allowing you to review or hear it spoken before dialing.
CALL CONTACTS FROM YOUR ADDRESS BOOK
- Utilize the up and down arrow keys to scroll through each page of your Address Book. Choose a specific contact to initiate the call.
- When you have many contacts, you can filter the list to display only a select few at a time.
ANSWERING CALLS
- Press the up and down arrow keys to navigate through your contacts in the Address Book. Select a contact to answer their call.
- For larger address books, you can apply filters to display only a limited number of names at once.
SEND AND RECEIVE EMAILS
- With the Synapptic Smartphone, you can send and receive emails from anywhere that has an internet connection!
- Compose new messages, read incoming emails, reply, forward, or delete messages with ease.
- Easily send and receive photos, documents, voice recordings, and other attachments through your smartphone.
EMAIL MESSAGE MENU
- Choose any message in your Inbox to read, reply, delete, save, or forward it.
READING EMAILS
- All incoming emails are presented on the screen in large text and are spoken aloud, making them easy to read.
COMPOSING A NEW EMAIL
- Sending an email with Synapptic is straightforward, even for first-time users. With magnification and spoken feedback, the keyboard allows you to locate each letter before typing. If you’re unfamiliar with keyboards, you can also dictate your message instead.
WEB BROWSER
- Browsing the internet is a breeze with the innovative Tab & Jump® feature, allowing you to easily navigate through text blocks, headings, and links. Move around the page using magnification and touch, or utilize the Next and Previous buttons at the bottom of the screen. As you navigate with these buttons or touch items, descriptions are read aloud for your convenience.
- The Web Browser Menu includes options for web searches, entering a web address, accessing a homepage, saving favorite websites, and quickly returning to recently visited sites.
READING MACHINE
- The Reading Machine employs OCR (Optical Character Recognition) technology to convert text into speech.
- Take a photo of any document, and it will be read aloud! Just tap the screen to operate—it’s quick and precise.
- Use the Synapptic reading stand for a hands-free reading experience.
Play Music, Audiobooks, or Other MP3 Recordings
- Playing an MP3 file, whether it’s music or an audiobook, is incredibly simple. The large on-screen buttons allow you to easily play, pause, rewind, skip forward, or switch to the next or previous track, while also announcing the name and duration of the current track.
- The MP3 player, like all Synapptic screens, is designed for intuitive use, featuring high contrast, large text, and verbal prompts for everything displayed.
Capture a Photo
- Use our fully vocal and large-print camera to take photos effortlessly! Follow the step-by-step menus to zoom in or out, toggle the flash on or off, and simply touch the screen to capture your image.
- Photos can be easily attached to emails, making it simple to share your moments with friends and family.
View Photos
- Easily view and magnify your photos on the screen. Navigate between saved images using the up and down arrow keys located at the top and bottom of the screen. The date and time of each photo will be read aloud.
- Tap the screen to enlarge the photo to full screen, where you can magnify it even further if needed.
- Sending a photo via email is as straightforward as pressing a button!

Locate Your Current Position (Internet Connection Required)
- Utilize the built-in GPS feature to determine your current location and access a list of nearby restaurants, hotels, stores, churches, and more. The full address and street name are displayed and spoken aloud, along with the names, addresses, and phone numbers of nearby places.
Color Identifier
- Position any object a few inches in front of the tablet’s camera, and this tool will identify the color and display it on the screen. It also offers a more detailed description, such as dark green or sky blue.
Calculator
- Perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division effortlessly using the Synapptic large-print, high-contrast, and voice-enabled calculator.
Device Information (Internet Connection Required)
- This feature provides a quick overview of essential information about the tablet, including phone signal strength, Wi-Fi signal strength, battery level, missed calls, current ringer mode, ringer volume, date and time, and software version.

- Help is readily available throughout Synapptic. Most screens feature a Help icon in the top right corner, which provides access to help documents and videos specific to that screen.
